All things creative and aesthetic.

Trees and Water, and saving them!


What is your favorite type of food/cuisine?

Rajasthani Rajput cuisine.


What is your favorite food memory? Please provide an anecdote.


Being fed Dal Batti by my maternal grandmother in Bagsuri, which was my mothers home. And all the wonderful parties that my parents threw while I was growing up – the detail in the arrangements, the menu, the décor, the theme, the drinks, the music, et al.


From whom did you learn to cook?

My mother Krishna, who has come in from Delhi, and Rangbel Bai, my nanny.


What is the best party you have ever attended or thrown?

My growing up shikar (hunting) parties where we would be in the wilderness; conjure a makeshift stove to cook whatever was available and enjoy it thoroughly. Also, fishing trips in the Himalayas with my father where we would catch trout; fry it and relish it with lemon butter and salt.


Which charity, if any, do you support?

Save the Children NGO.


Is there anything else you want our Foodies to know about you? 


That I am a big foodie too and love to experiment with food. I love to paint. See new places in the world.
