About Myself

What are your interests or hobbies? What are you passionate about?

Golf, racket sports, travel, and warm beaches

What is your favorite type of food/cuisine?

Honestly, anything that charms the senses – Indian, Thai, Japanese, Iranian, French.

What is your favorite food memory? Please provide an anecdote.

I have to give you two since they are at two ends of the spectrum

1. Daniel’s, NY – a 6 course meal from NY most famous Chef “Daniel Boulud” – the ambiance, food, service and the paired wines were just beyond description.

2. Bandoo Khan, Chicago – a hole-in-the-wall Pakistani restaurant with a tremendous SPICY kick. The chicken quorma, daal and roti’s were out of this world. The cost was less than the tip for Daniel’s

From whom did you learn to cook? Or, What is the best party you have ever attended or thrown?

Four years ago in Basking Ridge – 50 people for my wife’s (undisclosed) Birthday. Food cooked in the house by a good friend and one of NY most creative Indian Chef’s – Hari Nayak. Indian Fusion. Appetizer after Appetizer – probably the best lamb chops I have ever tasted. Naturally, every Malani party has to include hours of Dancing into the wee hours of the morning.

Which charity, if any, do you support?

Crystal House (Bangalore) and Inwood House (NY) – both have similar charters – building futures for underprivileged kidsResearch about health and alternative medicine.
