Our friend Muriel is from Belgium and she is renowned in our neighborhood for making the most delicious waffles.  She very graciously shared this recipe with us even though it’s a closely guarded family recipe.  It’s really amazing how such simple ingredients can come together to make magic!  We think you will agree once you try this recipe in your home.

Ingredients:

500 g. flour

400 g. sugar

5 eggs

400 g. butter at room temperature

Directions:

Combine flour and sugar in a big bowl.  In a separate bowl, beat the eggs, and then add the beaten eggs to the flour/sugar mixture.  Add butter and mix until a soft dough is formed.  Place the dough in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.  Form little balls from the dough and bake in the waffle maker.
