This is a traditional American recipe often used for holiday entertaining. It’s very easy to make and

always a crowd pleaser. Try this at your next party!

Ingredients:

1 sheet puff pastry

1 tablespoon unsalted butter

1/2 cup walnuts or pecans

1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 (8-ounce) wheel Brie

1/3 cup brown sugar

¼ cup raisins (optional)

1 egg, beaten with 1 tablespoon of water

Crackers or baguette slices, for serving

Directions:

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

Roll out Puff Pastry.

In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Toast the walnuts or pecans in the butter until

golden brown, approximately 5 minutes, stirring frequently and being careful not to burn them.

Add the cinnamon and stir until walnuts or pecans are coated well. Lay the puff pastry out on a flat surface and center the brie on the pastry. Place the nut mixture on top of the brie and sprinkle brown sugar over the mixture as well as raisins, if using. Fold up the edges of the brie to the center, pressing firmly as you fold, making a big parcel. Brush the beaten egg over top and side of Brie to ensure a golden color when baked. Place Brie on a cookie sheet and bake for 20 to 25 minutes until pastry is golden brown.

(Note: It is important to gather up the puff pastry firmly to completely enclose the brie or the brie

will seep out of the pastry as it melts in the oven)

Serve immediately with crackers or baguette slices.
